EN 17353
EN 17353:2020 is a European standard that specifies the requirements for protective clothing designed to enhance the visibility of the wearer in medium-risk situations. It distinguishes between visibility protection during the daytime (through fluorescent colours) and/or night-time visibility under vehicle headlights (through reflective materials).
- Type A: Uses only fluorescent material to improve daytime visibility.
- Type B: Uses only reflective material to improve dusk or night-time visibility.
Within Type B, we distinguish:
> Type B2: The reflective area must be at least 0.018 m², positioned on the limbs to make movement visible.
> Type B3: The reflective area must be at least 0.08 m², with a minimum of 2 cm wide bands around the torso to indicate presence.
- Type AB: A combination of Type A and Type B, featuring both fluorescent and reflective materials. Within this category, we also distinguish Type AB2 and Type AB3..
